Vivir del Cuento has lost another of its most popular characters, as Wilber Gutiérrez, the actor who portrays Chacón, has left Cuba with his family.
The news was reported by the independent outlet CubaNet, based on information provided by a producer of the Cuban comedy show and a close friend of Gutiérrez.
"Chacón left on a journey. In fact, several people from the program only learned of his departure after he had already left," the source confirmed to that outlet.
So far, it is only known that Chacón arrived in Mexico, but his exact whereabouts are currently unknown.
Without a doubt, this is a tough blow for the most popular comedian on Cuban television. Chacón, the wealthy neighbor with businesses, who is better off economically and is in constant conflict with Pánfilo, is one of the show's most beloved characters.
Vivir del Cuento has already seen the departure of several key characters in its history: Andy Vázquez (Facundo Correcto), Omar Franco (Ruperto), and Irela Bravo (Chachita).
Marlon Pijuán, the actor who portrays Isidoro, is also outside of Cuba, although in his case, it is unclear whether it will be permanent.
Last October, Luis Silva, the actor who plays Pánfilo, shared a message on Instagram that raised concern among fans of the popular comedy, suggesting that the show has become the latest victim of censorship in Cuba.
