Eduardo Antonio devastated after the death of Mexican actress Silvia Pinal: "Fly high my queen."

Eduardo Antonio deeply regrets the passing of Silvia Pinal, the actress who inspired his song "Mujer."

The passing of Mexican actress Silvia Pinal on November 28 has been a heavy blow for Eduardo Antonio, who regarded her as a close friend and mentor.

After the news of her death was announced, El Divo de Placetas wrote on his Instagram profile: “Fly high, my queen, my diva, my godmother, my friend.”

The Cuban singer fondly remembered the pioneering artist of musical theater and Mexican television.

He was inspired to write one of the most beautiful songs in his repertoire, “Mujer,” and during Silvia Pinal's lifetime, he had the opportunity to perform it for her live, accompanied by his guitar.

On that social media platform, Eduardo Antonio also shared photos from his last meeting with the actress, “where she received the Silvia Pinal medal in Mexico for her entire career and her connection to the last diva of Mexican cinema.”
