A grandmother whose whereabouts were unknown in Cuba was rescued after wandering through several interprovincial terminals across the country.

The elderly woman, identified as Amparo, was finally located thanks to the swift response and collaboration of various individuals and support groups that have emerged in different cities in response to the crisis on the island.

The rescue operation began when one of the support groups learned that the woman had taken a bus at the interprovincial terminal in Sancti Spíritus bound for Holguín, according to a Facebook post by activist Nelys Valdés.

Through contacts with the Holguín terminal and the collaboration of the community, including the young woman from Camagüey, Yurileisy Caballero, who shared the case on social media, they managed to trace her journey to the eastern city.
