This Tuesday, Daddy Yankee and Mireddys González faced each other again in court, and something shocking came to light. Just hours before the hearing, the reggaeton artist learned about the existence of another irregular transaction from his corporations' accounts valued at 46 million dollars.
During the hearing, which was broadcast live by the local media El Vocero de Puerto Rico, the attorney for the plaintiff stated that the transfer of the companies Los Cangris and El Cartel Records to Daddy Yankee "has been a torturous process."
Until yesterday, there was a lack of information for him to be able to take on the position in the company. The defendants delivered over 50 boxes without any type of information or organization," said lawyer Carlos Díaz Olivo, who represents Daddy Yankee.
"Last night, when we received these documents, just looking at them broadly, it shows that in one of the last tours our client took there appear to be commissions of over 30%, something unusual for this type of business, with disbursements amounting to 46 million dollars for the favored individual", the lawyer explained, emphasizing that the artist had no knowledge of these operations and that when inquiries were made about this matter, the defendants were unable to provide an answer.
On their part, one of the new lawyers for Mireddys González and her sister Ayeicha González, Roberto Alonso, stated that his clients were not in charge of the multimillion-dollar affairs of both companies as has been claimed so far, and asserted that Daddy Yankee himself was the one handling this aspect.
Both parties have reached a new agreement in the legal dispute, under which the delivery of documents from both companies will continue, and this process will be handled by Licenciada Mariel Colón Miró, a newly hired attorney by Mireddys, known for being the former lawyer of El Chapo Guzmán.
