Value of the dollar, euro, and MLC for today in Cuba

Have the currencies shown any signs of movement?

Neither up nor down. Dollars, euros, and freely convertible currency (MLC) remain unchanged in the informal Cuban market.

In the last 24 hours, none of the three benchmark currencies in Cuba has shown any signs of movement, either up or down, in informal trading, and this has been the case for several weeks now.

At dawn this Monday, the three currencies have remained unchanged for 12 days, according to documents the independent media elToque based on monitoring purchase and sale announcements on social media.

The dollar remains at 340 CUP, a price it has held since January 11. The US currency has now been stable for 23 days.

Also without movement, the euro. The European currency remains today at 340 CUP, just like the dollar.

Exchange Rate Evolution

In the case of the Freely Convertible Currency (MLC), it remains valued at 240 CUP, and has now maintained that price for three weeks.

The recent announcement by the United States government regarding the inclusion of Orbit S.A. in the Restricted Entities List has not yet been felt in the informal Cuban market. However, this inclusion has raised concerns among Cubans who rely on remittances sent from abroad.

Orbit S.A. emerged as a viable alternative for remittance processing following the exit of Fincimex S.A. from the business due to sanctions imposed by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

Ahora, con the reactivation of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act y la ampliación de la lista de entidades cubanas restringidas implementada por la administración Trump, el futuro de las remesas a Cuba vuelve a estar en entredicho.
