"They are inventing things": Jorge Junior lashes out at El Taiger's teleplay with strong words

Jorge Junior criticizes the tribute teleplay to El Taiger for inaccuracies and lack of family authorization. The production was removed from YouTube following strong criticism regarding its authenticity and quality.

The Cuban reggaeton artist Jorge Junior has expressed his discontent regarding the teleplay recently released in tribute to his late cousin, José Manuel Carvajal Zaldívar, artistically known as El Taiger.

In a live video broadcast on his social media, Jorge Junior expressed his disagreement with the production, stating that the family's consent was not obtained and that the content includes inaccurate information.

“For those who ask me what happened with the teleplay, I just gave my opinion and said that we should seek permission from the family for these very reasons, because I saw the first episode and they are talking about things that are not true, making things up, and I do not like that,” declared the artist.

Moreover, he questioned the truthfulness of the scenes presented, mentioning: "In the first chapter, they are asking the boy if Jorgito (him) wanted to be in the group, and I say, 'who said that at that moment I had a group?'".

The teleplay, directed by Alberto Yoel García, was conceived as a tribute to the life of El Taiger after the indefinite postponement of a biographical film due to the lack of agreements with the family and the inability to obtain the rights to his music.

However, since its release, the production has faced criticism from fans and family members of the artist, who point to the lack of family authorization and question the quality and authenticity of the content.

Comments on platforms like YouTube reflect public discontent, labeling the work as a "disrespect" and criticizing the acting and technical production.

In the face of the wave of criticism, the teleplay was removed from the YouTube channel where it was originally premiered, although copies of it continue to circulate on other platforms, keeping the controversy surrounding its content and production alive.

El Taiger, whose real name was José Manuel Carvajal Zaldívar, was a prominent figure in the Cuban reggaeton scene. He began his career in groups such as Los 4 and Los Desiguales before establishing himself as a solo artist.

His music gained international recognition, including the inclusion of his song "La Habana" in the soundtrack of the movie "Fast 8." Unfortunately, the artist passed away in October 2024 in Miami, a week after being found with a gunshot wound to the head.

The controversy surrounding the teleplay highlights the importance of respecting the memory of deceased artists and the necessity of obtaining authorization from their families for projects aimed at honoring them.
