The Cuban sonero Cándido Fabré expressed his deep sorrow following the sudden death of his friend and colleague, Paulo FG, which occurred in a traffic accident in Havana on March 1.
"Here there is no farewell, brother, here there is no goodbye," asserted Fabré in an emotional message where he made it clear that the mark left by Paulito in Cuban music is indelible.
Visibly moved, he recalled his friend's talent: "Great ones like you resonate deeply in hearts. You are one of the few greats left, Paulito."
Fabré assured that the news took him by surprise and left him with a "frozen heart." However, he recalled their camaraderie on stage, imagining that they are both still on the platform: "You know how much I loved you, I love you, and I will love you. We will never forget you. It’s too late to forget you."
The musician announced that he will compose a song in his honor titled "Who am I going to hang out with?", referencing the phrase they used to share.
Fabré reaffirmed that Paulito FG not only leaves a void in Cuban music, but also an eternal legacy that will continue to resonate in the hearts of his people.
