The message from Flor de Cuba to those who fear deportations: "The United States is not the center of the universe."

Flor de Cuba, a Cuban influencer, advises migrants not to fear deportations, emphasizing resilience and opportunities outside of the U.S. and Cuba. She shares her work experience on social media.

The Cuban influencer Flor de Cuba recently answered several questions from her followers during a Q&A session on her Instagram stories. Among the topics discussed, she shared her views on the uncertainty of migrants in the United States and the fear of deportations.

When asked about this topic, the content creator appealed for calm and reflection. For her, deportation should not be viewed as a definitive punishment, but rather as a circumstance that can lead to new opportunities. "We should not worry about something that is beyond our control. The best we can do is the right things, and not because we are at risk of deportation, but because it is what should be done to have peace, awareness, and to be a good human being,” she expressed.

Flor de Cuba also emphasized the importance of resilience and the ability to adapt to any situation. "I feel that destiny and God know where they want you and why they want you, and if a person is deported, sometimes we think that what happens to us is for the worse, but it is actually for the better. If God believes that your destiny lies somewhere other than here, the best thing is, especially when it involves things beyond our control, to trust that everything happens for a reason and that life is like this, constantly going up and down."

In this regard, he emphasized that the world is vast and that there are many more opportunities outside of the United States and Cuba. "Another thing I want to express is that the world is large. There are more than 190 countries; it's not just Cuba or the United States, it's not the center of the world. One door closes, but there are more options, so it’s not the end of the world. It’s not that you've been taken off the planet Earth, it’s just that you’re not in one of the many countries that exist,” he stated.

During the Q&A session, Flor de Cuba shared details about her arrival in the United States and her first jobs. She explained that upon arriving in Kentucky, she helped her aunt with her cleaning company, but soon realized that creating content on social media was more profitable for her.

"The first days after I arrived, I was cleaning houses helping my aunt, who has a cleaning company. I went with her several times. But I did my calculations, and it generates about the same for me to post a video on TikTok as spending an entire day cleaning houses. And I would come back super tired with back pain," she remarked.

Currently, the influencer is fully dedicated to content creation on TikTok, although she stated that as soon as she obtains her work permit, she will look for formal employment. "When I have my work permit, I will look for my job. I want to start my own business and study, but I will work like everyone else. I am not someone who can go unnoticed, so I cannot risk any business hiring me without proper documentation," she explained.
