Jorge Pabón, known in the world of Puerto Rican radio, social media, and YouTube as Molusco, responded to Alexander Otaola after he called him an “idiotic leftist”, following the release of the controversial interview that the Puerto Rican conducted with Cuban reggaeton artists Charly & Joahyron.
In one of his programs, Molusco took some time to review the comments and insults sent to him by the Cuban influencer and assured that, while he is supportive of Cuba, there is no need to compare it to Puerto Rico, as both countries have different realities.
“Every country has its own situation, and just because Cuba is going through a tough time doesn't mean I have to accept the difficulties I face in my own country. Cuba has a very painful reality; I am supportive, but just because Cuba has been without electricity for two weeks doesn’t mean I have to applaud that here we only had several hours without power during a general blackout, dealing with the nonsense of the UMA, paying the highest electricity rates, I don't have to endure an inept government year after year, watching the health care and education systems in my country deteriorate each day, witnessing the worst transportation system,” the Puerto Rican speaker stated.
“Because Cuba lives poorly, because it lives under a dictatorship, I don’t have to compare myself to Cuba because we have our own reality that is different from Cuba,” emphasized Molusco, making it clear what the issues in his country are that need to be criticized and questioned, and not to accept the situation just because other countries are in worse conditions.
"I am neither left-wing nor right-wing; I am someone who believes in good governance," he added, emphasizing that regardless of whether it's the right or the left, what matters is that they govern Puerto Rico well. "You talk nonsense, Otaola; don't talk to me about Puerto Rico, you don't know anything about PR. Just keep talking about Cuba." He asserted and made it clear that during the interview with Charly & Johayron, he did not express opinions because he would be unable to disrespect Cubans and Cuba, as he has neither been to Cuba nor experienced what a Cuban goes through.
On his part, Otaola, reviewing the interview with the two reggaeton artists, lumped together Molusco, Bad Bunny, Calle 13, Ricky Martin, and called them all “leftist idiots” and stated that they should be taken to Cuba for a month to witness the hardships experienced on the island. “You are an ignorant person who prefers to be ignorant,” he told Molusco.
Otaola also questioned Cuban singers and labeled them "shitty artists trying to pretend that nothing is happening" in Cuba while the dictatorship continues to destroy the country and cause the suffering of the people.
