Additionally, the opposition leader emphasized that, as a result of this humanitarian work, the members of his household were left without food, which further highlights the solidarity effort they are engaging in.

"Let's prepare something now. My wife, despite being ill, has attended to 9 patients so far," Ferrer stated on Facebook.

Residents of the area reported long lines since early hours, highlighting the growing desperation they are experiencing due to the lack of response from the Cuban government to address the food crisis.

José Daniel Ferrer, a recognized human rights activist and leader of the Patriotic Union of Cuba (UNPACU), has been the target of constant repression by Cuban authorities. Despite this, his residence remains a center of community solidarity in times of crisis.

Recently, Ferrer requested urgent support from the Cuban community in exile to facilitate phone top-ups for mobile phones within Cuba.

The request aims to allow political prisoners to communicate with their families, as well as to facilitate communication among activists and access to information.

"Mobile balance is needed, and there are no longer organizations that support this, except for a few honorable exceptions," Ferrer stated on his social media, adding that those who wish to contribute can do so by making a recharge of 21 USD, contacting via WhatsApp at the number +1 561 308 1524.
