El Micha announces a new shipping business to Cuba from Miami

The announcement by El Micha received an avalanche of criticism from the Cuban community in Miami.

El Micha is venturing into business outside of music and has just announced a shipping store to Cuba from Miami with the intention of entering the competition in this field.

In an interview with Destino Tolk, the Cuban reggaeton artist shared details about it: “I’m focused on two or three businesses that I will be announcing soon (...) Just like those in the city that send bikes to Cuba, where you can send packages to Cuba, so that Cuban families can help each other, so that the children here can send to their parents or the parents here can send to their children over there, making it easier for Cubans inside and outside.”

"Since I see so many agencies in the city, I also want to venture in, I want to make a difference," said the artist with a laugh and confessed that his intention is "to send as much as possible to Cuba, whatever people want to send, at the client's request."

The singer said he has a whole team of professionals in the United States organizing the business legally, and he is not afraid of being targeted by criticism.

El Micha revealed that the business is called Mercadame and the online store is already operational, along with the office in Miami: “It’s a business that brings results for people, and I also want to get involved in that.”

When searching CiberCuba you found an online store under this name that so far only ships to Havana and Camagüey.

Among the products currently offered are food combos ranging from 50 to 220 dollars, but it seems they intend to expand sales to other categories such as meats, eggs, preserves, beverages, appliances (including ventilation equipment and generators), cleaning products, technology, and hardware.

The announcement from El Micha found support among some of his followers who wished him great success in this new venture, but it also unleashed an avalanche of criticism from the Cuban community in Miami.

“There's two sides, the ashamed and the shameless”; “Living at the expense of the Cuban”; “The G-2 is on fire in the house”; “Asere, one thing is going to Cuba and another is having the audacity to come here and say that Cuba is better now than before. That’s just being another singao”; “I see another opportunist who navigates both waters, conveniently turning a blind eye, and wants to live in freedom and abundance without acknowledging who caused him to emigrate in search of a better future abroad; “What a shameless guy this snitch is. Do you really think that if this dude didn’t have ties to the Castros, he could send all that just because he’s El Micha? Come on, people”; “What a disgusting situation, Micha, really, the businesses that are going on in the city and he’s laughing, this is the face of Miami”; “But what a bold face this guy has. Announcing businesses while laughing and mocking,” some commented on YouTube after the interview aired.

Throughout the past year, El Micha has been the subject of numerous criticisms for his statements, behaviors, and performances both in Cuba and Miami. The Cuban community on social media has shown divided opinions regarding the reggaeton artist's behavior. Some defended him for avoiding the mix of art and politics, while others label him as opportunistic and accuse him of turning his back on the exile community.
