The Secretary of the Court and Controller of Miami-Dade County, Juan Fernández-Barquín, has announced the launch of the Green Light Operation, an initiative that will take place from April 21 to May 4, aimed at reducing the number of suspended driver's licenses and providing the community with an opportunity to save on fees.
“This initiative eases the burden for our residents who want to do the right thing by paying their judicial obligations,” stated Fernández-Barquín in remarks reported by Telemundo 51.
“During this period, I have authorized my office to waive the fees, allowing citizens to set up payment plans, if necessary, so they can retrieve their licenses. The goal is to help as many residents as possible”, he added.
Licenses are often suspended for reasons such as failure to pay traffic fines, not appearing for a summons, accumulation of points, among other causes.
