The Cuban influencer Daniela Reyes bared her soul in a series of Instagram stories where she shared a powerful reflection on the difference between what is portrayed on social media and the reality experienced behind closed doors.
"I would never want you to form an image that isn't true. I know it’s very difficult on social media for things to be 100 percent real because one tends to be very cautious and maintains their own bubble, or at least I do. Even though I am very open with you, I try to maintain that bubble and only bring you nice things that can either make you laugh, motivate you, or entertain you, but one thing I do want is for you to always remember that social media is not real life,” the YouTuber clarified.

Daniela, who currently resides in the United States, tearfully confessed how difficult this new immigration process has been. “You all know that I’ve been here in the United States for a few months, and this process has been really hard for me, just me and my parents... it even makes me feel emotional... how silly I am,” she said before having to stop the video due to the emotional weight of the moment.
The influencer explained that, although she always presents a positive image and shares cheerful content, not everything seen on social media reflects the entirety of what she experiences day to day: “I don't want to make myself sad or anything, but I get emotional because it has indeed been a difficult phase for me, and anyone who sees me on social media thinks that I have been living the good life all these months. And yes, I truly have a super privileged life, I am extremely grateful, very happy, I feel emotional, sensitive. I have a perfect life, filled with privileges and blessings, but everything I have been going through remains challenging.”
Daniela wanted to make it clear that her job as an influencer requires her to present a polished, positive, and entertaining image, but that doesn't mean her life is free of challenges: “My job is to come here and show you a beautiful life, a life that entertains you; my advertising has to be joyful, fun, showing you lovely things, and that is part of my job, but I want you to keep in mind that all processes are difficult and that what you see on social media is not always reality.”
She also took the opportunity to send a direct message to her followers: “Don't forget that everyone has their battles, that they are always fighting against something, that many challenges always arise, only we know behind closed doors the things we go through, what we think, the things we overcome.”
The confession, accompanied by tears and an uncommon sincerity on social media, touched many of her followers, who have supported her with messages of encouragement and understanding.
