Cuban woman arriving in the U.S. after visiting Cuba warns: "They are sending everyone to the little room."

Cubans returning from visiting the island are facing stricter controls in the U.S., according to a viral alert on TikTok. Travelers undergo thorough inspections in secondary immigration areas.

A Cuban who recently returned from a visit to Cuba posted a video on TikTok warning other travelers about alleged stricter procedures at immigration upon their arrival in the United States.

"I’m already at immigration, and they are sending all the Cubans to the holding room here in Houston,” said user Magalys Mustelier (@magalysmustelier1) in a brief clip recorded from the U.S. airport.

"Now I'm getting ready to take my second flight. They're sending everyone to the small room, without mercy," he added.

The video, shared on the Cuban's TikTok account, has raised concerns among Cuban users who reside in or plan to travel to the United States.

The term “el cuartico” is a colloquial expression used to refer to the secondary inspection area where immigration agents conduct more thorough interviews or additional reviews of certain travelers.

Although Mustelier did not specify the reasons for the increase in these controls, his testimony adds to other similar reports published on social media by Cubans who have recently traveled to the U.S. after visiting the island.

This type of control may be related to the review of immigration status, suspicions of misuse of immigration benefits, or simply to internal criteria for border security, although no official statement has been issued on this matter by U.S. authorities.
