The Cuban content creator known as Flor de Cuba stated this Thursday that her defamation lawsuit against the influencer Alexander Otaola has officially been filed by a Miami-Dade County sheriff and that the judicial process is underway in court.
"I want to make this official statement to let you know that the judicial process has already begun. Two days ago, the Miami-Dade sheriff delivered the official lawsuit to Alexander Otaola, and the case is now in court", he stated in a video posted on his social media.
Flor assured that this is an unprecedented legal action: “Know that this is the first time in the history of this character on social media that a content creator has filed a lawsuit of this magnitude against this person for their words and acts of defamation.”
Serious accusations and personal traumas
The influencer argued that she has been a victim of years of attacks by the presenter, who allegedly has profited from her personal and family issues. “This man has been destroying my reputation and my public image for many years, profiting from my problems, my children, my body, from everything related to me,” she reported.
Among the statements that, according to her, Otaola has made and which are part of the evidence against him, she mentioned: “ambassador of Cuban prostitution,” “Sandro Castro's tube-sucker,” “the TikTok pimp,” “the milk extractor of Capricorn TV,” “frontman for the regime using the American visa for human trafficking” and “the one who organizes child prostitution parties”.
He also accused Otaola of falsely involving U.S. authorities: “He lied by saying that ICE contacted him to deport me and revoke my visa”.
Evidence, witnesses, and legal representation
Flor de Cuba explained that it has documentary evidence for each of the accusations, including recordings of the programs where Otaola allegedly made these statements. In addition, they claimed to have witnesses willing to testify in court, including doctors and psychologists who would support the psychological impact that has been suffered. “I have received death threats, and my 11-year-old son has been contacted on his Facebook with the same offensive phrases used by Otaola,” they stated.
It also clarified that, although she does not have legal immigration status in the United States, this does not prevent the lawsuit from proceeding, as her lawyer has full legal representation even if she had to leave the country.
Otaola responds: “I am happy to receive your requests.”
For his part, Alexander Otaola denied having received any notification during his program on June 11 and appeared calm about the possibility of facing legal action.
“I am here open, perfectly happy to receive your demands, your attacks, and your inventions. I will defend myself as I am used to doing and I will win as I am used to doing,” he said.
