A Cuban woman has gone viral on social media after delivering a harsh critique of those who flaunt luxury brands like Hermès or Dior to project superiority.

In a video shared on the TikTok account @dailenysnb, the young woman candidly expressed her opinion on this phenomenon, which is common on social media. "It had to be said, and it was said," she wrote in the description of her post.

"I'm sorry, but I have to say it. Every time I hear one of these wealthy Cuban women who think they're better than everyone else: 'Oh, an unboxing of Hermès, I bought some Hermès sandals'... Get this! The sandals of the month are horrible, so ugly," the young woman commented, visibly upset.

With an ironic tone, he compared the luxury sandals to similar models available in discount stores: “At Shein, you can buy sandals that are exactly like those for five dollars.”

The Cuban also defended the use of affordable clothing and recalled the reality of many people on the island: “What does it matter if she wears Shein? Gentlemen, stop inflating things. We are Cubans, and in Cuba, we would go out in clothes borrowed from our cousins or friends, and we walked around in flip-flops with a nail stuck through the bottom.”

The young woman concluded her message with a critical reflection: “What do you have to be bragging about now, Hermès and Dior? Clothes, shoes, and bags don't make you a better person. Just because something is branded doesn’t mean it has to be pretty. There are brand items that look awful. Stop inflating things and educate yourselves, please!”
