A Cuban woman residing in the United States expressed her outrage on social media over the condition in which a trailer she had for rent was left after the unexpected departure of a tenant and her son.

"Look at this, gentlemen, so you can see. It's true that you can't help people. I rented this trailer to a woman with a son, who is about 18 years old, and they left without notifying me," commented the landlord in a video shared on TikTok.

The woman explained that the tenant left the place on the 31st to avoid paying the rent on the first of the month, and she showed how the apartment was left: with clothes scattered around, unmade beds, food scraps on the table, dirt on the floor, and even a broken railing.

"Look at the amount of mess they left me. I'm telling you, no one can be helped," he lamented while recording the tour inside the property.

The video has garnered comments from users who express solidarity with the affected individual and criticize the irresponsibility of those who rent out properties and deliver them in deplorable conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions about Renting and Cuba-U.S. Relations

Why do many people in the U.S. face issues when renting properties?

Renting properties in the U.S. can present challenges due to lease agreements that include complicated clauses, misleading initial conditions regarding the state of the housing, and additional charges for maintenance and services. These factors can significantly increase the cost of living in a rented place and make it difficult to move out without penalties.

How does Cuba's economic situation affect relationships with family in the U.S.?

The economic situation in Cuba generates tensions with family members in the U.S., as those who have emigrated often feel pressured to send financial assistance consistently. This can create a significant emotional and financial burden for emigrants, who often feel that their support is not appreciated.

Why do some emigrated Cubans feel frustrated when talking to their relatives in Cuba?

Cuban emigrants often experience frustration when talking to relatives on the island because they feel their own problems are being minimized or ignored. This emotional phenomenon occurs because family members in Cuba tend to focus the conversation on their own difficulties, downplaying the challenges faced by emigrants.

What measures can property owners take to protect their rental properties in the U.S.?

To protect their properties, owners can implement clear rental agreements that specify tenant responsibilities, conduct periodic inspections, and require appropriate security deposits. These practices help minimize damage and ensure that tenants maintain the property in good condition.
