The controversy between music producer Roberto Ferrante and Dominican communicator Destino Positivo continues to escalate, according to statements from the creator of the program Destino Tolk, who claims the businessman is trying to silence him.
During a recent broadcast, Destino revealed that, following the strikes received on his YouTube channel for the interview he conducted with the Cuban reggaeton artist El Chulo, he contacted a representative from Ferrante's company to resolve the situation. According to his words, the person informed him that Ferrante would only be willing to lift the sanctions if he publicly posted a video apologizing.
“The girl tells me that I have to make a video apologizing, asking for forgiveness from Ferrante and I have to say that I disagree with what El Chulo said on my program, that I am against what he said,” he explained.
However, that would not be the only condition; after the apology video and once the sanction was lifted, he would also have to completely remove the interview from his channel.
Instead of accepting the demand, Destino struck back at the music producer, accusing him of attempting to censor him.
“Lawsuit? That's fine, nothing will happen, let them sue. I also have my lawyers and I seek my money to defend myself against anyone. There is no fear here, I don't live in Cuba, I don't live in Venezuela, I don't live in Nicaragua. I don't live in a country where I have to put up with Ferrante's nonsense or be afraid if I haven't committed any crime,” he declared.
The communicator defended his right to freedom of expression and made it clear that he does not censor his interviewees. Additionally, he denounced that Ferrante had previously claimed his program as his own content simply because an image of the duo Charly & Johayron appeared.
Destino called Ferrante a "dictator" and emphasized that he lives in the United States, a democratic country where he can express his opinions freely and does not accept any form of imposition.
