The Cuban reggaeton artist L Kimii strongly criticized the host Alexander Otaola after he referenced his skin color during one of his shows in Miami.
In a video shared on his social media, the urban singer appeared visibly upset and made strong statements against the host.
"Is nothing going to happen with Otaola? This is what happens with him. I am not outraged by anything. Unbelievable. Now this is just the beginning. The dictatorship is killing all the Black people like me. I feel helpless right now. You're referring to my family; my mother is Black... Are you crazy? What’s wrong with this consortoe? Get your lawyers ready, the toughest ones you have in Miami," the artist expressed in a defiant tone.
Otaola's words, which apparently triggered L Kimii's reaction, were interpreted as a racial comment. However, the presenter denied having made any offense and claimed that his statements were taken out of context.
"This boy has been told you have to leave; I haven’t talked about him as a Black person, I don't speak about people's color. Black people in Cuba are the most oppressed ethnic group, that’s what Black people themselves say. Where is the racism? I didn’t talk about this man's family," he replied during a new broadcast.
The confrontation has sparked a wide debate on social media, where users have divided between those who support L Kimii's outrage and those who back Otaola's version, known for his controversial and confrontational style.
For now, the exchange of accusations continues to escalate, and it is not ruled out that it could lead to legal actions, as the urban singer himself threatened.
