The Cuban singer-songwriters Descemer Bueno and Donato Poveda came together for a heartfelt tribute to Santiago Feliú, with the premiere of the song The Arc of Kindness.

The performance features prominent musicians from the Cuban scene such as Yusa, Elmer Ferrer, Robertico Carcasses, and Ruly Herrera, who accompany the two artists in this musical tribute.

Pavel Giroud, the director of the music video, shared on Facebook the memories that connect him to Feliú.

He recounted how years ago, in Havana, the idea emerged to create a music video for the song Ay, la vida. The singer-songwriter went to his house and sang it to him with an acoustic guitar, leaving Giroud impressed by the lyrics, the intensity of his voice, and his stage presence. However, the project did not come to fruition due to a lack of funding.

Later, the filmmaker moved to Madrid. It was there that, in 2014, he learned of Feliú's death, which left him with the feeling of having been indebted to him.

Until two months ago, he was offered the opportunity to direct the music video for The Arc of Kindness, which also serves as a tribute to other Cuban artists who have passed away, such as the Cuban filmmaker Manuel Marzel, who passed away in July in Spain, and actress Broselianda Hernández.

"The Arch... was composed by Descemer Bueno and Donato Poveda, along with the doctor Iván Castro, a great friend of Santiago Feliú."

"A very special song, I hope you all enjoy it a lot," expressed Descemer on his YouTube account, where the music video can be enjoyed.

Santiago Feliú passed away suddenly on February 12, 2014, from a heart attack, leaving a deep void in Cuban music.

Born in Havana on March 29, 1962, he was a central figure of the Novísima Trova, known for his close ties with colleagues such as Silvio Rodríguez, Vicente Feliú, Noel Nicola, and Carlos Varela.

His talent as a left-handed guitarist and composer made him stand out not only in Cuba but also among international artists such as Luis Eduardo Aute, Fito Páez, Ismael Serrano, and León Gieco.

Throughout his career, Feliú released iconic albums such as Vida (1986), Para mañana (1988), Náuseas de Fin de Siglo (1991), Ansias del Alba (1997, alongside Vicente Feliú), Futuro Inmediato (1999), and Santiago Feliú en Vivo (2000).

In 2002, he consolidated his artistic maturity with Entre Otros and Sin Julieta, while in 2010 he released Ay la vida, his latest production.

His songs addressed love, heartbreak, social and political criticism, and reflections on time and life, with a lyricism that made him a reference for several generations of troubadours.

The Arc of Kindness not only revives the musical essence of Feliú, but also reaffirms his legacy and the influence he left on those who knew him and shared stages with him.

The collaboration of Descemer Bueno, Donato Poveda, and other musicians consolidates a tribute that connects several generations of Cuban artists with the memory of an unforgettable singer-songwriter.

The music video is now available and serves as a tribute of respect, nostalgia, and admiration for Santiago Feliú, reaffirming his significance in the history of Cuban music and his influence on contemporary artists.
