A young Cuban shared on TikTok the ordeal she went through to renew her identity card in Cuba, dealing with endless lines, a system failure, and more than a month of waiting to obtain the final document.
"I didn't want this day to come, but well, what can we do? When it's time, it's time. I've spent the whole day waiting in line here," he recounted in the video posted on the account @zol.arias.
The young woman explained that she had to go to complete the procedure because she had lost her document. Following her mother’s strategy, she decided to go on a Saturday, hoping there would be fewer people at the office, but she found that there was “no system.”
"The system was down, and we were there waiting for a really long time. I was already getting desperate because I don’t like to wait, I don’t like to stand in line, and that’s the most common thing to do in Cuba," he stated.
Due to the impossibility of completing the process that day, the young woman had to return the following Monday, when she finally managed to complete the procedure, although she was only given a receipt and a temporary card. She must pick up the official document within a month.
