The former manager of Cuban reggaeton artist José Manuel Carbajal Zaldívar, known artistically as El Taiger, announced this Wednesday that there is now an official date for the start of the trial for the artist's murder: December 8, 2025.
"New information! We now have a start date for the trial," Padrón wrote on his social media, accompanying the message with a thank you to God and a call for justice for José.
The news comes after the failed hearing on August 12 in the Miami court, which had raised concerns about further delays in the process.
On that occasion, Padrón denounced the lack of progress and feared that an agreement might be sought that would benefit the accused, Damián Valdés Galloso, charged with first-degree murder.
According to the prosecutor's office, Valdés Galloso shot at the reggaeton artist on October 3, 2024, causing injuries that led to his death a week later. If found guilty, he could face life in prison.
Family, friends, and fans of the musician continue to keep the call for justice alive, which now takes a new step with the confirmation of the trial's start date.
JUSTICE FOR JOSÉ, Padrón reiterated in his post.
