The Cuban influencer Rayner Tamayo, known on social media as Fiu Fiu, publicly erupted against Pollito Tropical following the latter's statements about the situation in Cuba during his appearance on the reality show "La Casa de Alofoke," one of the most popular entertainment programs in Latin America in the Dominican Republic.
In a strong message posted on social media, Fiu Fiu criticized Pollito for comparing the Cuban reality to that of Venezuela, accusing him of lacking empathy and being unaware of the suffering of the island's people.
"You see that it's not the same to pretend as it is to be. I don’t pretend anything, and that’s where the true identities of human beings are revealed. I have the guts to say wherever I stand what I think about Cuba," the influencer expressed, visibly indignant.
Fiu Fiu recalled the events of July 11, 2021, when thousands of Cubans took to the streets to protest against the regime of Miguel Díaz-Canel, and denounced the repression, political prisoners, and the deaths that marked that day.
"You have no idea how many people were beaten, tortured, or disappeared that day. A friend of mine was held for eleven months just for going out to protest. There are still people imprisoned since then," he lamented.
The influencer also criticized that, while the population in Cuba faces hunger, diseases, and a lack of medication, public figures like Pollito Tropical prefer to remain silent or downplay the crisis the country is experiencing.
"You have a platform to raise your voice for a suffering people, and you prefer to remain silent. Cuba has been held hostage for 70 years, filled with pain, without the freedom to choose its leaders," Fiu Fiu added.
The content creator ended their message with harsh words towards Pollito: “You are useless and will always be useless. Just as the Twin Towers fell, so too must you fall. Time will reveal who you really are.”
So far, Pollito Tropical has not publicly responded to Fiu Fiu's strong message, although their statements about Cuba have sparked a wide debate among the followers of both influencers on social media.
