The right-handed pitcher Yosbel Cansino, a native of Camagüey, will return to Cuban baseball after a decade of residing in the United States, with the aim of joining the Leñadores de Las Tunas, the current national champions.

According to the official journalist Gretel Yanet on the social network Facebook, Cansino, who developed his career outside the country, is now looking to contribute his experience and leadership to the pitching staff in Tunas, in a movement that is uncommon within the current context of Cuban baseball, which is marked by the constant exodus of players abroad.

The right-handed pitcher could make his debut this season against the Industriales at the Latinoamericano stadium, marking a symbolic return to baseball on the Island after ten years of absence.

If Yosbel Cansino makes his debut against the Leones, he will be doing so against nothing less than the most successful and iconic team in Cuban baseball, a squad with tradition, history, and one of the most passionate fan bases in the country.

Facing the Azules at the Latinoamericano Stadium represents, for any player, a high-voltage challenge and an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of the country's most demanding audience.

Los Industriales, with 12 national titles to their name, symbolize the spirit of baseball in the capital and maintain a strong rivalry with almost all teams from eastern Cuba, including Las Tunas, which has established itself as a powerhouse in recent years thanks to a talented and disciplined generation.

Aside from the historical significance of the rival, the capital team remains among the leaders of the current 64th National Baseball Series, which would add an extra competitive element to the potential debut of Cansino.

For the Camagüey pitcher, facing one of the most followed and well-performing teams in the championship would be a symbolic return and an ideal test to demonstrate that he still has much to contribute to Cuban baseball.
