The Cuban reggaeton artist L Kimii has been somewhat reserved on social media lately, sharing only a few hints about his new music. However, even though he seems to be less active on his profiles, he has made appearances on others'… like that of Colombian singer Digiannia. A few days ago, the artist posted a video on TikTok where both compare typical expressions from their countries, in a playful tone and with clear camaraderie.
What seemed like an innocent collaboration to entertain followers ended up creating quite a stir. In the comments, hundreds of users reacted with surprise at the natural way the artists interact and the chemistry they convey. “Is that Kimii?”, “I don't seek out the gossip, the gossip comes to me on its own” and “Kimi changed for the Colombians” were some of the most repeated phrases among internet users, who quickly began to suspect that there might be something more behind the video.
Cubans, as always, added a spicy touch. Some focused on the linguistic differences mentioned by the artists, while others got straight to the point. “Kimi is out eating arepas,” wrote one user, while another joked that the reggaeton artist is “discovering new horizons.”
The detail that fueled the rumors the most was that, until very recently, L Kimii was in a relationship with the Cuban influencer Samantha Hernández. The couple had made their relationship public on social media, but the romance lasted only a few weeks before ending abruptly. Therefore, seeing him so close to the Colombian singer, many followers couldn’t help but remember his ex and write comments like “Samantha exited the chat” or “Now we know why he left her.”
Digiannia, for her part, has taken the commotion with a sense of humor. Amid the flood of comments, the artist responded with a simple “Chismooosiiitoos jajaja”, making it clear that she doesn't take the speculation too seriously. She also clarified that the meeting was for musical purposes, which could imply that both are preparing a collaboration. She even left the door open to the public's curiosity by writing: “Could it be that we release a song together, what do you all think?”.
Neither Kimii nor Digiannia have confirmed whether this is just a one-time recording or something more personal, but the public has already drawn their own conclusions. The truth is that the combination of the Cuban accent with the Colombian touch proved irresistible to social media, which quickly made the video a trend.
