The Cuban influencer Carnota, based in Miami, shared an emotional message on his social media regarding the death of his grandfather in Cuba. In several stories posted on Instagram, the young man expressed his sorrow and frustration over the shortcomings of the Cuban healthcare system, which he blamed for the loss of his grandparents.

“The only comfort in a situation like this, unable to embrace or be present, is to think that heaven is happy to see them reunited,” she wrote alongside a childhood photo with her grandparents. “It hurts to know that I lost both of them because of a healthcare system that failed, in the country where I grew up, unable to overcome a virus caused by filth and neglect,” she added with evident sadness.

Carnota fondly remembered his grandparents as his main refuge during childhood, stating that they always supported him and gave him unconditional love. In another image dedicated to his grandfather, he described him as "the kindest man" he had ever known and lamented not being able to say goodbye in person: "This was the last time I gave you a kiss, you were sad because I was leaving. I miss you, Grandpa."

The content creator, who has built a strong community on social media with his humor and charisma, showed his more human side on this occasion. "I dreamed of hugging you one day. I learned from you what it means to take care of family, what it means to be a hardworking man and provide for your loved ones", he wrote alongside another photo taken during a video call with his grandfather.

With his words, Carnota not only paid tribute to his family but also brought to light a harsh reality faced by many Cubans: the precariousness of the healthcare system on the island and the pain of thousands of emigrants who cannot say goodbye to their loved ones. "I love you, Grandpa. Take care of Mima up there and may you both be happy. I know that one day we will see each other again," he concluded.
