In the midst of a political crisis with the United States, ruler Nicolás Maduro performed one of “his dances” during the dinner of the so-called “second Christmas,” broadcast as part of an official event.

The video, circulated by pro-government accounts and widely shared on digital platforms, shows the leader dancing casually during dinner in front of cameras, presented as a gesture of joy and normalcy.

The account Reacción Nacional described the episode as a "dance spectacle" that highlights the disconnect between those in power and the actual situation of the population.

"Amid the crisis affecting the country, Maduro turned Christmas into a staged event," noted the publication, which garnered hundreds of thousands of views in just a few hours.

However, others believe that the dance is an attempt to project “internal tranquility” in the face of threats from Washington, which has increased its military presence in waters near Venezuela.

"He is scared, and that is the way to silence his fears and present the image that he is fine to the world," wrote the user Joseph Díaz.

Other comments were more direct and sarcastic: “They even need to be taught dance lessons because they don’t know that either,” Jeny Petit joked.

Some internet users interpreted the scene as a sign of political cynicism. "It's the first time I've seen a socialist brag about their well-being while the country is sinking," commented the economist Humberto, who pointed to the regime's information control as a key factor for this type of display.

Meanwhile, in the comments, slogans and increasingly explicit calls for external intervention or a political resolution to end the Chavista regime are being repeated. Venezuelans hope it will be "their last dance."
