The dream vacation of Aly Sánchez in Brazil ended up being anything but relaxing. The Cuban actress and influencer shared images on her social media of a resort in Florianópolis, a hotel that promotes itself as "five stars," but which, according to her, didn't even deserve two.
“It hurts to say it, but it hurts even more to live it,” wrote the artist alongside a video showing the conditions of the place. The images depict dirty rooms, broken balconies, pools with mold, and deteriorated common areas. The Cuban artist stated that the gym had rusty and smelly machines, while at the spa they used a rice pot to heat the towels. “No one cares about your money or your time,” she lamented.
The post quickly went viral and sparked a wave of comments. “I died laughing at the rice pot story, I had never heard that one,” wrote a follower, while another commented, “Believe me, I wouldn’t spend even one more day there; I love my clean little house.” Others couldn’t help but make comparisons: “I thought you were in Cuba” or “Which hotel in Cuba is that, so I don’t go,” several users commented.
Aly explained that the trip was booked through an agency and that, for that reason, she did not check the hotel reviews before traveling. Additionally, she mentioned that they could not change accommodations because "it was high season and there were no options available." Many of her followers suggested that she leave a review on Google to warn other travelers.
The moment also sparked humor among friends. Actor Alexis Valdés joked in the comments: “Girl, your house is so much better. Why did you even go there?”. Aly's response went viral: “The more I vacation, the more I love my home.”
Although the destination is one of the most visited in Brazil, the actress's experience shows that even the most advertised resorts do not guarantee comfort. "Let my experience serve you. Plan your trips," Aly wrote, concluding an anecdote that—despite the disappointment—left a valuable lesson for everyone planning their next vacation.
