The agencies Cubamax Travel and Supermarket 23, dedicated to sending packages to Cuba from the United States, announced the temporary limitation of several of their services due to the severe fuel shortage affecting the island, which is directly impacting distribution.

In an official statement published on Facebook, Cubamax explained that the fuel shortage in Cuba has caused significant delays in services that require distribution and delivery, making it challenging for packages to reach their final destinations.

"Due to the current and severe fuel shortage in Cuba, all services that require distribution and delivery are experiencing significant delays," the statement notes.

A similar case was reported by Supermarket 23, stating that for logistical reasons and until further notice, the store will only accept orders destined for Havana and Isla de la Juventud. The other provinces are off their radar until they restore the service.

New temporary measures

In this scenario, Cubamax announced that it will adopt several measures to prioritize the most urgent issues and ensure the continuity of service within the current limitations:

The acceptance of shipments will be limited exclusively to essential supplies, food, and medicines.

Only one submission per customer will be accepted.

Only existing customers will be served.

The home delivery service is temporarily suspended, with only pickup available at 329 designated points across the country.

The company also warned that shipments already received will continue to experience delays in their distribution, directly related to the availability of fuel.

"Critical situation beyond our control"

Cubamax described the situation as "critical and completely beyond our will and control," and assured that it continues to work with responsibility and caution to seek alternatives that allow it to keep operating within the current complex context.

The agency emphasized the significance of each package for Cuban families, often sent as humanitarian aid.

"We know that they are not just shipments; they are humanitarian aid to their relatives, sent with great love and sacrifice," the company stated.

Cubamax indicated that if fuel availability in Cuba does not improve in the coming weeks, additional measures may be adopted until minimum conditions are in place to ensure responsible and quality service.

The company expressed gratitude for the understanding, patience, and trust of its customers, and reaffirmed its commitment to continue connecting Cuban families, despite current challenges.
