The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed that its forces carried out 10 airstrikes against more than 30 ISIS targets in Syria between February 3 and February 12, as part of a strategy to maintain constant military pressure on the remnants of the terrorist group.

According to the official statement published on X, U.S. forces attacked ISIS infrastructure and weapons depots using precision munitions launched from fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, and drones.

These airstrikes join five other attacks carried out between January 27 and February 2, targeting a communications center, a key logistical hub, and several arms storage facilities of the extremist group.

Response to deadly attack in Palmira

The operation, named "Hawkeye Strike," was launched in response to an attack that took place on December 13 against U.S. and Syrian forces in Palmyra. The ambush carried out by ISIS resulted in the death of two American soldiers and one American civilian interpreter.

According to CENTCOM, in the last two months of selective operations, more than 50 ISIS fighters have been killed or captured, while over 100 terrorist infrastructure targets have been destroyed through the use of hundreds of precision munitions.

U.S. military authorities emphasized that they will continue operations to prevent the group's reorganization in Syrian territory and to avoid new attacks against allied forces in the region.
