Cuban reggaeton artist Velito El Bufón and his partner, Thalía, have ended their relationship just a few weeks after welcoming their second child together, Thiago. The news took their followers by surprise, who had recently celebrated the birth of the little one alongside the couple.
It was Thalía herself who confirmed the breakup through her Instagram stories, in a message stating that the separation occurred a few months ago, but they decided not to make it public until now for their emotional well-being, as she has just given birth.
"Velito and I broke up a few months ago. He decided to live his life and I decided to live mine. We hadn't made it public (...) I'm fresh out of childbirth, and for the sake of my well-being, I didn't want any controversy," the young woman wrote in a message she shared with her followers.
In the statement, she also requested respect and assured that, despite the separation, she wishes for the artist's well-being, as—according to her—this directly impacts the well-being of their children. "His well-being is my children's well-being; that's why I will never wish ill upon him," she added.
Thalía also announced that she would temporarily close her Instagram account for 24 hours and expressed her fatigue regarding the public exposure of her personal life.
The breakup occurs shortly after the birth of Thiago, the couple's second child. On February 9th, Velito El Bufón shared the happy news that he had become a father for the second time, expressing his joy at the arrival of the baby, the result of his relationship with Thalía. The little one joins the family at a time that seemed full of promise for both.
So far, Velito has not publicly commented on the separation.
