The Cuban actress Camila Arteche made a public appeal on her social media to request support for her cousin Christine Barzaga, a nine-year-old girl who is battling advanced cancer and requires specialized medical treatments that her family cannot afford.
In her post on Facebook, Arteche explained the personal reason behind her message: "Whenever I receive these campaigns, I share them in case someone can help. In this case, it's even more important to me because Christine is my little cousin."
The artist recalled that the girl has been fighting a long battle against the disease: "She is 9 years old and has been battling cancer for 5 years."
He highlighted a reality that weighs heavily on many families in similar situations who cannot afford the cost of treatments.
"So I am very grateful to anyone who can help by donating or sharing," she said to her followers.

The campaign was published on the GoFundMe platform and is written as a letter in the first person from the girl herself.
The text reminds that Christine was diagnosed in 2021, when she was just five years old. At that moment, her world changed completely.
"My childhood stopped being about games and laughter… and became about hospitals, needles, medications, and a lot of pain. I have gone through strong treatments, difficult days, and nights when fear doesn't let me sleep. Sometimes I feel tired… but I keep fighting," she described.
The message indicates that their current condition is more complex as the cancer has advanced and has now metastasized.
Despite this, the girl clearly expresses her desire to move forward: "I don't want to give up. I want to live. I want to keep hugging my family. I want to keep laughing. I want to grow."
The campaign explains that Christine needs new treatments and specialized medical care, the costs of which exceed her family's financial means. That is why Christine is appealing to solidarity.
"Every donation, no matter how small, is a hope for me. It is another opportunity to keep fighting. It is a chance to stay here," he emphasizes.
It also requests that, if one cannot contribute financially, they share their story and remember them in prayers.
