The visas for the Cuba team to enter the United States in preparation for the 2026 World Baseball Classic have been issued, clearing up any uncertainty regarding the delegation's participation in the scheduled preparation games on U.S. soil, reported the specialized site Pelota Cubana this Wednesday.

According to the plan, the team will travel to Arizona on February 28, where they will hold practice games against the Cincinnati Reds and the Kansas City Royals as part of the Spring Training schedule.

Subsequently, the delegation will move to Puerto Rico, the base of their group in the tournament, to continue their preparations before the official start of the competition.

Preparation underway

The team has continued its training on the field in Nicaragua while the immigration procedures were being resolved, focusing on both tactical aspects and adjustments to pitching and defense, areas identified as crucial by the coaching staff.

With the documentation now in order, Cuba will be able to complete the planned schedule without setbacks, which includes high-level competitive matches against Major League organizations.

The 2026 World Classic represents a new challenge for the Cuban national team, which will seek to improve its performance on the international stage and build a competitive squad ahead of the demanding tournament.
