The Cuban reggaeton artist Oniel Bebeshito is experiencing one of the most important moments of his career. The artist announced on Instagram that he received 24 certified gold and platinum records from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), a milestone that marks a significant achievement for his career and for the Cuban urban genre.
"Let me see where I should start... First of all, thank you Planet Records, Roberto Ferrante, for helping me grow as an artist, thank you Riaa Awards for these beautiful achievements," the singer wrote in an emotionally charged post.
Bebeshito explained that the recognition arrived a few days ago, but he needed time to process the significance of the news. "I hadn't posted anything because, honestly, I didn't believe it, and I still don't really believe it, but I remember how much I've worked hard and how much effort I've put into this, and I realize that I truly deserve it," he confessed.
The artist expressed especially gratitude to his audience, attributing his success to them. “Without you, none of this would have happened. We are breaking barriers, we are doing what no one thought would be possible,” he stated.
He also expressed words of gratitude to several colleagues and collaborators who have been part of his journey, including El Taiger, Charly & Johayron, Lenier Mesa, 6ix9ine, El Coyote, Yhona, Alex Duvall, Alexis El Tanque, Maikol The One, Ernesto Losa, and Raydel RPM.
In his message, the singer highlighted the impact that this recognition has beyond just the personal level. “Infinite thanks, and I hope these are the first of many,” he expressed, making it clear that he sees this achievement as the beginning of an even more ambitious phase.
Bebeshito also had words for the United States, a country where he has solidified a significant part of his career, and for Cuba, the land that—he said—made him an artist.
The list of platinum certifications includes the songs "La batidora," "Qué rico me siento," "El punto," "Marca mandarina," "Hacha," "Imagínate conmigo," "Un millón en el banco," "Infladora," "Inhala y exhala," "Quémalo," "La cubana que falta en Miami," "Papita frita," "Tacto que llegó el reparto," "Mi nombre," and "Totaila."
Among the singles certified with a gold record are “Ella es trampa,” “Mulata,” “Mami,” “Molestia,” “Manguera,” “Un inclinao,” “Vamos a hablar claro,” “Pa’ que te voy a mentir,” and “Erukemban,” all of which are major hits of the reggaeton artist.
With 24 official certifications from the RIAA, the artist reaffirms their growth in the urban scene and confirms the international reach that Cuban music is achieving in the U.S. market.
