Shakira doesn’t usually talk much about her private life, but when she does, she makes headlines. In a recent interview on the Spanish program Al Cielo con Ella, the Colombian singer opened up about raising her children, Milan and Sasha, and surprised everyone with one of the strictest rules she enforces at home.

Contrary to what many might imagine, the artist's children do not have free access to technology. In fact, Shakira made it clear: they do not have mobile phones, and the use of devices is completely monitored.

“They have an iPad, but it is very controlled. I give it to them on a Saturday morning for one hour,” she explained, clarifying that screen time is limited and monitored.

But the most decisive measure goes further. The performer confessed that she has directly banned access to certain platforms: “They don't have much access to the internet; I've banned YouTube outright.”

Behind this decision lies a clear concern: to protect them from the impact of social media and digital content. “They know that happiness should be sought in simple things, that the truth is not found on social media,” stated the artist.

Shakira has also wanted to instill a key idea in the midst of the media exposure surrounding the family: to avoid searching for information about themselves or their parents online. “They know that they shouldn’t be looking up their name, nor mine, nor their father’s, because why would they?”, she commented.

In an era where access to technology begins at an increasingly early age, the singer's stance has sparked debate. For some, it is a necessary measure; for others, too strict. But for Shakira, the priority seems clear: to ensure her children grow up grounded and away from digital noise.
