The Southern Spear Joint Task Force carried out a lethal kinetic strike on Tuesday against a vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations in the Eastern Pacific, as confirmed by the United States Southern Command on their social media, resulting in the death of four male narco-terrorists.
The attack was ordered directly by the commander of U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), General Francis L. Donovan. Intelligence confirmed that the vessel was navigating known drug trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and was involved in drug trafficking operations.
According to the official statement, four male narco-terrorists were eliminated during this action. No U.S. military personnel were injured in the operation.
This attack is part of a series of similar operations carried out in recent days. On April 11, two strikes in the Eastern Pacific left five people dead, while on April 13, an additional attack in the same area claimed two more lives.
According to military analysts, the operation on Tuesday represents the approximately fiftieth strike of Operation Southern Spear, a campaign that has signified the largest military presence in the Caribbean since the Missile Crisis.
The escalation of these operations has generated international controversy. Human rights organizations and victims' families have reported extrajudicial and illegal killings, while independent records indicate that the campaign has resulted in at least 170 people eliminated in more than fifty attacks since its inception.
