Angelina Castro returned from Italy with a story that she quickly shared with her followers: she traveled with an expired credit card, paid 221 dollars for Uber upon arrival, and found that the cash she had wasn't advantageous due to the exchange rate.
The Cuban-American content creator posted a video on her TikTok account yesterday, humorously recounting the mishap and naming it the stupidity of the world.
"The trip to Italy I prepared with two days in advance. I called my friend and said, I'm leaving. She told me, go for it," Castro recounted, describing the spontaneity with which he organized the trip.
Upon landing at the Italian airport, the first shock came in the form of a bill: "I arrived and had to take an Uber that cost me two hundred twenty-one dollars to my friend's house because she lives near Milan, but I have to get off at an airport that is very far from there."
It was precisely during that journey when Castro discovered the main issue: "Upon arriving, I realized through Uber that the only card I had brought to Italy was an expired card from July 25," meaning from July 2025.
In light of the situation, Castro had an alternative: one thousand dollars in cash. However, the exchange rate was very unfavorable for him. "I had brought one thousand dollars, in cash, but with the exchange, they were giving me about fifty-something, sixty euros, and that doesn't seem right to me; it wasn’t beneficial for me," he explained.
The Cuban-American clarified to her followers why a credit card is so important when traveling outside of the United States: "A credit card is what people use when they go outside of the United States, as currency exchange can be quite expensive."
The outcome, however, was positive. Castro found the solution in Italian technology: "Italy, besides being a first-world country, is so, so advanced that everything can be paid for with a phone," he noted, referring to mobile wallets like Apple Pay or Google Pay, which are widely accepted in the European country.
The video, lasting one minute and 29 seconds, was published yesterday from her account @angelinacastroshop and generated hundreds of reactions among her followers.
Angelina Castro, whose real name is Francys Delia Valdes, was born in Havana in 1982 and moved to Miami when she was 12 years old. In recent years, she has diversified her public profile beyond adult entertainment: she has established herself as a mentor for content creators on OnlyFans, with successful cases such as the Cuban influencer known as "La Mariposa," who generated $200,000 in 24 hours under her guidance, and the singer Seidy La Niña, who raised nearly $20,000 in her first 25 hours on the platform.
"Now that I've returned from Italy, I'm ready to tell you the story of the world's stupidity," was the phrase with which Castro began her tale, making it clear that despite the unexpected events, the trip ended up being a good story to share.
