Milena Fernandez Fonseca, a Cuban mother residing in the United States, shared her joy on TikTok this Saturday about the purchase of a 2026 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, a vehicle whose base price is around $33,350 in the U.S. market.

Who publishes under the username @milenafernandezfonseca accompanied the 28-second video with a message of gratitude: Thank you, my God, for each blessing and achievements in our lives, and more will come.

The clip includes the audio: "Yesterday I spoke with God, He told me not to hold back, that what you are planting will soon stand firm," a phrase that captures the spirit of perseverance with which the Cuban celebrated her new achievement.

Milena's followers responded with messages of support and congratulations. "Congratulations, beautiful, very good," wrote one of them. Another left a more extensive comment: "Honestly, you deserve it; it's time for life to smile at you and continue to fill you with blessings for that beautiful heart you have. I love you so much, my dear; I have good envy now."

The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid 2026 is a hybrid SUV with a price range starting from $33,350 for the base model up to $49,950 for the GR Sport PHEV version, making it a significant purchase that reflects the efforts of those who emigrated to the United States in search of better opportunities.

Milena's post falls within a well-established trend on social media where emigrated Cubans share the purchase of new cars as a symbol of success. The contrast with the reality on the island is stark: the average salary in Cuba does not exceed 20 dollars per month, and acquiring a vehicle there is practically impossible for the vast majority of the population.

In recent months, dozens of Cubans in the United States have shared similar stories. Yalina Domínguez, in Houston, celebrated in February the purchase of a yellow Chevrolet Corvette with the message "God's timing is perfect." That same month, an anonymous Cuban showcased a black Lamborghini on TikTok in response to her critics: "You won't be able to… they motivated me."

In October 2025, the host Yunior Morales celebrated in Miami the purchase of a Chevrolet Trax 2RS 2026 with zero miles, and in September of that year, the activist Thais Mailén Franco acquired a Hyundai Santa Fe 2026 after three years of effort on U.S. soil.

High-profile influencers have also gone viral with their purchases. In March, the content creator known as Milenita received a BMW X6 valued between $73,000 and over $100,000 from her husband, while Pollito Tropical gifted himself a Rolls-Royce for his 33rd birthday. In July 2025, Samantha Espineira showed off a 2025 Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupé worth over $100,000, purchased in Miami.

The narrative of gratitude, effort, and religious faith that accompanies these videos resonates strongly within the Cuban community abroad, generating thousands of interactions and becoming a collective testimony to the contrast between life in exile and the precariousness imposed by decades of dictatorship in Cuba.
