Cuban rapper and activist Raudel Collazo, known as Escuadrón Patriota, made a strong public denunciation regarding the case of the young content creator Anna Sofía Benítez Silvente, known as Anna Bensi, and her mother, whom he describes as victims of a harassment campaign by State Security in Cuba.
In a video shared on Instagram, Collazo expressed concern for the young woman’s situation, stating that her messages reflect "a cry for help and desperation" that, according to him, only those who have gone through similar experiences under pressure from the authorities can truly understand.
The rapper described the series of actions that the repressors have carried out against the young woman and her mother, ranging from threats and official summons to actions such as the interruption of her phone line and unauthorized access to their digital communications. Furthermore, they have suggested that she leave the country to avoid greater consequences for both her and her mother.
Collazo also warned that these situations often escalate into more direct forms of intimidation, including physical and psychological pressures. In his remarks, he questioned the lack of protection mechanisms for citizens on the island and denounced a state of "total helplessness" in the face of such cases.
“What can they do in a situation like this?” the artist wondered, in a call directed to both the international community and those closely following the Cuban reality. His message highlighted the lack of effective legal guarantees in the face of such allegations.
The case of Anna Bensi has accumulated a series of documented episodes of repression in recent months. In March, both were charged and placed under house arrest, a measure that keeps them confined and under constant surveillance.
This was compounded by the fact that counterintelligence agents attempted to recruit Anna during an interrogation, a common tactic of the regime to turn activists into informants and dismantle opposition networks from within.
