Amelia Calzadilla, coordinator of the opposition organization Ciudadanía y Libertad, revealed the details of her visit to the European Parliament alongside activist and historian Carolina Barrero. In Brussels, they presented two specific demands: the suspension of the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement (PDCA) between the European Union and Cuba, and the imposition of individual sanctions against military leaders and members of the Castro family responsible for direct repression against the Cuban people.

"The impression I got is that the European Union and the European Parliament genuinely want to stand by the people of Cuba before something happens that comes hand in hand with support from the United States," said Calzadilla, who during the interview granted to CiberCuba, confirmed that a process has begun to review the dialogue and cooperation agreement with Cuba as the EU itself has verified that the economic aid they send to supposed civil organizations on the Island are tools used by the regime to silence civil society.

During the interview, Calzadilla defended her political vocation and stated that she is willing to return to Cuba if a transition process begins. The viewers of CiberCuba rallied around her en masse, and many offered their vote to support her in securing a seat in the future Parliament and even reaching the Presidency of the country.
