The family of Ulises Domínguez Suárez, a 47-year-old from Havana, is seeking help to find him after his disappearance in Varadero last April, with no trace of his whereabouts having been found so far.

The case was publicly disseminated by the independent media outlet El Toque through a wanted poster that includes a photograph of Ulises wearing a black cap and bright-colored clothing, apparently taken in a restaurant.

According to the publication, "a person close to the family who contacted our outlet requested help in spreading the news of their disappearance" and noted that "any information could be relevant to the search."

Anyone with information about Ulises's whereabouts can contact his sister Penélope Domínguez Suárez via WhatsApp at +1 (407) 285-9535, a number with an area code from Orlando, Florida.

So far, there are no known official search reports by the Cuban authorities in relation to this case.

This situation reflects a recurring pattern in Cuba: in the absence of accessible and transparent official mechanisms for searching for missing persons, families turn to independent media and social networks as the only means to publicize cases and seek citizen assistance.

So far in 2026, similar cases have been reported in other provinces: an 80-year-old man had been missing for a week in Cienfuegos since April 3, and a motorist had not been seen for over 40 days in Trinidad by that same date.

Varadero, Cuba's main tourist destination located in the province of Matanzas, has been the scene of several documented disappearances in recent years. In April 2025, an eight-year-old boy disappeared on the beach of Boca de Camarioca and was found dead four days later near 54th Street in Varadero.

In November 2021, the diver Alfredo Alejandro Díaz Alemán, 22 years old, disappeared in the sea in Varadero and his body was found dead at a depth of 30 meters at Caleta beach on December 3 of that year.

Anyone who has seen Ulises Domínguez Suárez in Varadero or has information about his whereabouts can contact his sister Penélope at +1 (407) 285-9535.
