The Cuban YouTuber and content creator Ultrack surprised his followers by revealing what has been the riskiest moment of his entire life. And it had nothing to do with controversies, online fights, or scandals from the Cuban entertainment industry.

During a question-and-answer session on his Instagram stories, the influencer confessed that the hardest experience he has ever faced was the migratory journey he undertook to reach the United States, including his passage through the dangerous Darién Jungle.

"The most dangerous thing I've ever done is the journey when I came to the United States," Ultrack shared. "Especially the Darién Jungle. It was 11 days of walking through the jungle with thousands of dangers—hunger, sleep deprivation, fatigue, harsh conditions, animals that can kill you with a single bite. It was horrific, but we made it."

The confession shocked many of his followers, who were used to seeing him amidst viral broadcasts, heated debates, and entertainment content, but not speaking so openly about one of the most difficult stages of his life.

Ultrack, whose real name is Jorge Ramón Batista Calero, is one of the most well-known figures among Cuban creators based in Miami. However, behind the fame on social media lies a story he shares with thousands of Cubans who left the island in search of a better future.

The crossing through the Darién Jungle, between Colombia and Panama, is considered one of the most dangerous migration routes in the world. Rivers, wild animals, hunger, extreme exhaustion, and criminal gangs are all part of a journey that many migrants describe as a boundary-testing experience.

In recent years, thousands of Cubans have traveled that same route to the United States, especially during the peak migration period between 2021 and 2024. Many of these stories have been shared on social media, but it is not common to hear public figures from Cuban entertainment speak so openly about their experiences there.

Beyond the controversies he often generates on the internet, Ultrack's response revealed a much more human and vulnerable side. It also put everything else into perspective: behind the viral influencer is someone who walked for eleven days through a jungle to try to change his life.
