The Western Army of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) published a new military propaganda message on social media this Saturday under the slogan "Combat readiness continues", accompanied by images of Cuban soldiers in olive green uniforms gathered around an armored vehicle or artillery piece in a tropical vegetation setting.

"In the field and with the technique, our youth are preparing to confront the aggressor if necessary. Alongside them are the chief leaders," reads the official publication, tagged with the hashtags #FARCuba and #LaPatriaSeDefiende.

In parallel, the Western Army released a video about exercises by the Revolutionary Navy in the defense zone of Sandino Cabañas, in the municipality of Mariel, where coastal rocket units conducted maneuvers to counter enemy landing forces, including combat diving and coastal rocket firing.

"The maneuver implemented the strategy for these cases, replicating the most complex conditions of a real situation," noted the official statement from the Western Army.

The publications this Saturday are part of the so-called “Year of Preparation for Defense 2026”, officially declared by the Cuban regime and inaugurated on January 12 across the three territorial armies: Western, Central, and Eastern.

Since then, the FAR conducts military exercises every weekend that include shooting drills, rocket launches, the use of drones, and the movement of Mobile Combat Groups, in accordance with the historical doctrine of the so-called "War of All the People."

The propaganda activity has notably intensified in May. Last Thursday, the Ministry of Revolutionary Armed Forces (MINFAR) showcased its elite troops known as "Black Wasps" with the message, "War should not be provoked, but we will wage it if the enemy imposes it."

On Friday, the regime turned Cienfuegos into a stage for military drills by sea and air, related to National Defense Day.

Among the slogans released by MINFAR during this month are "For Cuba, there is no alternative, victory or death" and "The order to cease fire will never be given," phrases that the regime has used to justify the escalating rhetoric amid tensions with the Trump administration in the United States.

However, these posts have not had the expected propagandistic effect on social media. Numerous Cubans have responded with mockery and irony regarding the outdated state of the equipment shown and the openly propagandistic nature of the videos.

The National Defense Council approved in January the "plans and measures for transitioning to a State of War," while the regime continues a sustained campaign on social media that, according to analysts, aims to project military strength to a population facing power outages, shortages, and a deep economic crisis.
