Isabella Toledo, a 19-year-old Cuban-American residing in Hialeah, won the Miss Teen Global 2026 pageant on May 10 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, representing Cuba against competitors from 21 countries.

The competition, aimed at participants aged 14 to 20, held its fourth edition in the Malaysian capital and assessed the social and communication skills of the contestants.

"I felt excited every time they mentioned the name Cuba," said Toledo, a graduate in Business Administration from Miami Dade College.

What makes the victory even more remarkable is that Cuba wins this competition two consecutive years: Toledo was crowned by the 2025 winner, Naisha Nardo, also a young woman of Cuban descent born in Miami, who was the first Latina to take that crown, ending a streak during which all the winners had been Asian teenagers.

Both young women prepared through Miss Teen Cuba, Inc., an organization based in South Florida founded four years ago by Dominican designer Anthony Gómez.

"Isabella is distinguished by her responsibility and focus," highlighted Gómez, who emphasized that winning the most important beauty pageant for teenagers in the world in two consecutive editions is an extraordinary achievement for Cuban girls.

Toledo has been modeling since she was seven years old and trained at the Silhouette Modeling Academy in southwest Miami before being crowned Miss Teen Global Cuba at the end of 2025.

Beyond competitions, the young woman balances her work as a coordinator for extracurricular activities with her social project Las Alas de Isa: Sharing Hope, which provides entertainment and creative art activities to vulnerable children, some of whom have disabilities.

"I have always enjoyed working with children. It brings me joy to know that I can brighten their day by making them laugh," said Toledo, who aspires to become an occupational therapist and plans to study Psychology at the International University of Florida.

Her family, hailing from Pinar del Río, instilled in her the optimism and warmth that she describes as part of her identity: "I was raised to welcome everyone with open arms. That's in my blood."

Toledo's triumph is framed within a broader phenomenon.

Since the Miss Universe Cuba franchise was established in Miami in 2024 under the direction of Venezuelan Prince Julio César, the city has become a hub for training Cuban beauty queens who represent the island in international competitions.

This ecosystem has also produced the achievements of Leah Reyes as Miss Teen Earth 2025 and Lina Luaces as Miss Universe Cuba 2025, who made it to the top 12 finalists of Miss Universe 2025 in Thailand.

Miss Teen Cuba, Inc. already has qualified representatives to compete in India, Indonesia, and Poland in the upcoming months, and Gómez predicts a bright future for Toledo in the adult beauty pageants: "We are dedicated to highlighting the values, talent, and beauty of Cuban teenagers."
