The Cuban singer Melany Kap experienced one of the most important moments of her career when she was invited on stage by Alejandro Sanz during his concert on June 27 at the RCDE Stadium in Cornellà de Llobregat, Barcelona, in front of approximately 34,000 people with sold-out tickets.

The artist herself celebrated the milestone on her Instagram account with a message that captured the emotion of the moment: "The most beautiful thing is to be able to dream it, work for it, and enjoy the dream," accompanied by the flags of Cuba and Spain. The post generated hundreds of reactions from followers who celebrated the artist's achievement.

The concert was part of the "¿Y Ahora Qué?" tour, the latest from the artist from Málaga, supported by a self-titled album that received nominations for the 2025 Latin Grammy and has traveled through Latin America, the United States, and Spain during 2026, filling stadiums with tens of thousands of people.

Melany Kap's participation was a remarkable exception during a tour where Sanz has not typically had guest appearances on stage, making her presence in Barcelona a special acknowledgment of her talent.

Melany Kap is the stage name of Melany Capote, a Cuban singer and dancer who graduated from the Higher Institute of Art of Cuba (ISA), one of the most prestigious artistic training institutions on the island.

For years, she worked at the famous Havana cabaret Tropicana while simultaneously developing her solo career. Her first independent music videos, "Quiere a quien te quiere" and "Enamorada," were released in 2017, when she was also in a romantic relationship with David Calzado, the director of the legendary Charanga Habanera.

Alongside Calzado and his group, she recorded the song “Cógeme la chapa” in 2018, where she showcased both her vocal abilities and stage presence. That same year, she also starred in other musical projects that solidified her artistic profile within the Cuban scene.

Over the years, the artist emigrated to Miami, where she currently resides and continues to build her career independently, distanced from the artistic circles controlled by the regime in Cuba.

Her appearance alongside one of the most influential artists in Spanish music represents a significant leap in her international projection, far removed from the stages of Havana where she began to establish herself as a performer.

Sanz's Spanish tour kicked off on June 6, 2026, at the La Cartuja Stadium in Seville, with over 70,000 attendees. It continued in Madrid on June 20 and 21 and made a stop in Barcelona on June 27. The last scheduled date in Spain is July 24 in Fuengirola, making the Barcelona concert—and Melany Kap's participation—one of the most memorable moments of this tour phase.
