El Alfa, whose real name is Emanuel Herrera Batista, was baptized at the Centro Cristiano Soplo de Vida, a congregation in Santo Domingo led by Pastor Yesenia Then, marking his formal conversion to evangelical Christianity.

The event, documented in a testimonial video that went viral on social media, featured the participation of his eldest son, Fendi Herrera, who also received baptism alongside his father.

Dressed in a blue robe, the Dominican dembow artist shared his testimony before the congregation with straightforward words about his new faith: "God has given me everything in life, including a beautiful family."

The artist went further with his message and extended an open invitation to his followers: "I want to tell everyone listening that those who are alive and do not know God are simply and plainly dead. Anyone who surrenders their soul to God is the person who manages to open their eyes and see what life truly is."

El Alfa also expressed his state of mind after the baptism: "God is the creator of heaven and earth, and I feel more than happy to have given my soul to God. The most important thing on the face of the earth is to have God in your heart, to serve Him, and for your heart to act in accordance with that of Christ."

The conversion is part of a series of personal changes that the artist has been publicly announcing since 2025. In November of that year, El Alfa donated his blue Rolls-Royce — valued at over 300 thousand dollars — to a church to fund the construction of a temple, explaining that it was in response to a calling from God.

In December 2025, he announced his retirement from the stage and launched the farewell tour "The Last Dance World Tour," with 35 dates in the United States, Latin America, and Europe. Months later, in February 2026, he suffered a serious car accident in his Ferrari SF90 on Tiradentes Avenue in Santo Domingo, from which he emerged stable and without serious injuries.

In the family realm, his wife Alba Rosa recently announced that she is pregnant with a girl, which will be the couple's third child. They have been together for 21 years and officially married in 2021.

One of the most frequently repeated comments among his followers summed up the general sentiment: "El Alfa always said he would do it; it's not a surprise. Additionally, his wife has been a Christian for some time. God bless him."
