Behind each of these videos lies a story of forced separation. Between 2021 and 2024, more than 850,000 Cubans arrived in the United States, marking the largest exodus from the Island since 1959, fragmenting hundreds of thousands of families and friendships that have gone years without being able to embrace one another.
TikTok has thus become the emotional archive of that diaspora: the place where every surprise hug transforms into a collective catharsis for a community that sees itself in every reunion.
