Cimafunk and Emilio Estefan starred in one of the most emotional moments of the by performing live before a sold-out Hard Rock Stadium in Miami just before the round of 16 match between Argentina and Cape Verde.

The musician from Pinar performed “Love Always Wins”, the official song of the tournament written and produced by Emilio Estefan, in front of tens of thousands of spectators, with the stadium's giant screen lit up displaying the World Cup logo and the trophy of the World Cup.

Cimafunk delivered a performance that was captured in images he shared on his Instagram account. "It was a privilege to sing before this historic match. Huge thanks to FIFA, Emilio Estefan, and everyone for this opportunity! Congratulations to Argentina and Cape Verde!" wrote the artist.

Emilio Estefan also celebrated the moment on his social media, explaining the significance of the performance: "FIFA wanted to welcome football fans in Miami with the sound of Miami and a great message of love, hope, and unity through music."

The Cuban-American producer also took the opportunity to dedicate the performance to Venezuela, noting that this message was "especially important during these difficult times" for that country.

"Love Always Wins" is performed by Zema, Shaggy, and Cimafunk, and is part of the official album of the 2026 World Cup, released on June 4 under the FIFA Sound label, featuring 18 songs and artists such as Shakira, Daddy Yankee, and The Rolling Stones.

The collaboration between Cimafunk and Estefan goes back a long way: they began working together in studio sessions in Miami in May 2025, and in April 2026 it was confirmed that the musician was recording his next album with the producer.

The match that followed the performance lived up to the occasion: Argentina defeated Cape Verde 3-2 in extra time. With that victory, the albiceleste team advanced to the Round of 16, where on Tuesday they will face Egypt at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
