Lourdes Díaz Laudinot, a resident of Alamar, Havana, has not been found by her family since Sunday, July 26, which prompted them to issue an urgent alert on social media following a family tragedy that affected her closest circle.
Her cousin Nelvis Durruthy publicly reported the disappearance through a video on Facebook, in which she warned that the situation is critical.
"My family in Cuba is experiencing a devastating situation. My cousin, Lourdes Díaz Laudinot, is missing, and since then, no one has been able to locate her," he said through tears.
The disappearance occurred in the context of the murder of Armando Lara, known as "El Kini," which also took place in Alamar.
According to a report on Facebook by Univisión 23 journalist Javier Díaz, "it was the current husband of the mother of his children who took his life."
In his video, Nelvis referred to that crime, stating that it left two children without a father and also jeopardized the life of his cousin Lourdes.
"The incident in which Armando El Kini lost his life is horrible and sad, because there are two children left without a father. Moreover, this also puts her life at risk, and we do not know what is happening," he said.
For his part, the communicator identified as "Nio reporting a crime" revealed more details about the case.
According to their sources, Lourdes is indeed the mother of Armando Lara's two children, who lost his life after allegedly being stabbed by the woman's current partner, named Osneisi Torres, who is currently at large.
"Relatives fear that Lourdes could be with Osneisi," Nio said on Facebook. "According to the information they have, Osneisi is from Pinar del Río, which raises the possibility that they might be in that province. However, this information has not been officially confirmed."
Nio also revealed that Lourdes might be with her youngest child, son of Osneisi, but this detail is not mentioned in the information shared by Nelvis Durruthy.
The search poster shared by Nelvis warns in capital letters: "HER LIFE IS IN DANGER." The family asks anyone with information to contact them at the phone number 53 4004738 or via WhatsApp at 59221268.
The Gender Observatory of Alas Tensas (OGAT) has activated the search alert and is gathering information about the case.
The organization has documented that there are no effective state protocols in Cuba for searching for missing persons, nor is there an official alert system equivalent to the AMBER Alert, forcing families to rely on social media and independent organizations.
The case is part of a spiral of violence that the Cuban regime refuses to acknowledge with official data.
Only two days before the missing persons report, two 19-year-olds were killed in a violent attack at Hanói Park in that same area of Alamar, with no official statement issued by the authorities.
Journalist Javier Díaz summarized the recurring pattern: "Violence continues to rise in Cuba, and the crisis brings out the worst in human beings. Every day, we are reporting new incidents where people choose to take justice into their own hands."
Independent observatories recorded 37 femicides in Cuba in just the first half of 2026, almost double the number during the same period in 2025, and a total of 350 femicides from 2019 to June 2026.
In 2025, OGAT documented 40 disappearances of women, girls, and boys on the island: six of them were found dead.
Nelvis Durruthy closed his appeal with a direct plea: "Please keep Lourdes and our entire family in your prayers. We hope to find her safe and sound."
