Cardi B once again showed that fame hasn’t erased her roots: the New York rapper sent three of her four children to spend their vacation in the countryside in Dominican Republic, and the reactions on social media couldn’t have been warmer.
The artist published several videos of children in a rural Dominican setting, surrounded by guavas, green oranges, a chick, and glasses of tamarind, while voices in Spanish explain the name of each fruit.
Cardi B accompanied the images with a phrase that became the headline of the story: «Send your kid to the campo. It's not always Disney» («Send your kids to the countryside. It's not always Disney»).
The three travelers are Kulture, eight years old, Wave, four, and Blossom, nearly two, her children with rapper Offset. The fourth, a boy born in November 2025 from her relationship with NFL player Stefon Diggs, stayed with her: the artist explained that the baby is still very young and that the mosquitoes in the country made the journey inadvisable for him.
The tradition is not new. Last summer, Kulture and Wave spent almost three weeks in a small Dominican town with about 4,000 residents, at the home of Cardi B's paternal grandmother, where they enjoyed rice, beans, and traditional meat, and picked starfruits from the trees. This 2026, Blossom joined the group for the first time.
The destination is always the same: Castañuelas, a municipality in Monte Cristi, in the northwest of the island, where the artist's father was born and where her grandmother raised her children. When some users criticized the modesty of the house in the past, Cardi B didn't hesitate to respond: "That's the house where my father was born" and "the little house where my grandmother raised her children."
The rapper, born in the Bronx on October 11, 1992, is the daughter of a Dominican father and a Trinidadian mother. Her connection to the Dominican Republic is deep and ongoing: in October 2019, she traveled to Castañuelas to celebrate her grandmother's 80th birthday, and since then, she has made that town a summer family destination.
The reaction on social media was largely positive: thousands of users praised one of the world's most successful artists for preferring her children to play among fruit trees rather than being at a luxury resort during their summer vacation.
